Hill Capital was inspired by the legacy of James J. Hill, one of the greatest entrepreneurs in American history due to his completion of the only privately funded transcontinental railway in U.S. history. His story of taking risks, facing adversity, and persevering to build the Great Northern Railway earned Mr. Hill the nickname “The Empire Builder.”
As he expanded his line westward, Hill took the time to build meaningful relationships with settlers, thereby igniting the entrepreneurial spirit of the pioneer men and women he encountered. These partnerships allowed Hill and the settlers along the path of the Great Northern Railway to grow and prosper together.
